Ioannis Alafouzos, CEO

Mr. Ioannis Alafouzos serves as Chairman and CEO of Okeanis Eco Tankers. Mr. Alafouzos began his career in shipping in 1981 and has over 40 years of experience in all facets of the industry. Mr. Alafouzos founded Kyklades Maritime Corporation’s tanker arm and has been the key strategist for the company’s cyclical asset plays. Mr. Alafouzos holds an MA from Oxford University in History of Economics. He was a member of the ABS Technical Committee from 2005-2009, a board member of Ionian and Popular Bank in the 1990’s, and a board member of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping in the 1980’s.

Thalia Kalafati, Treasurer

Ms Kalafati joined the Kyklades team in 1992. She was previously with Barclays Bank Plc, Piraeus Shipping Branch from 1981 to 1992 as Senior Account Manager. She has a Master degree in Statistics from The London School of Economics. Ms Kalafati is a Greek citizen, born in Cyprus and resides in Athens Greece since 1980.

Aristidis Alafouzos, COO

Aristidis Alafouzos has worked in the team of Kyklades Maritime Corporation for 8 years and is involved in chartering, projects and S&P. He studied International Relations in Boston University and holds a MSc in Shipping Trade and Finance from Cass Business School. He is Vice Chairman of Intertanko’s Hellenic Mediterranean Panel and Greek Committee Member of DNV GL.

Christopher Papaioannou, Head of Chartering

Christopher Papaioannou worked in the chartering department of Kyklades Maritime Corporation for nine years before becoming the Head of Chartering at OET Chartering Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Okeanis Eco Tankers Corp.. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from New York University.

Kostantinos Oikonomopoulos, CFO

Kostantinos Oikonomopoulos has extensive experience in the capital markets, finance and asset backed investments. Prior to joining OET, he held the office of the Investment Manager of Borealis Maritime Ltd in London for three years. Mr. Oikonomopoulos has a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and a MSc degree in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, London, UK.
